CYMBALS TO LAST LONGER

CYMBALS TO LAST LONGER

THIS IS HOW YOU GET YOUR CYMBALS TO LAST LONGER:

In order to keep your valuable cymbals to last longer there are few things you migt want to focus on:

ATTACHING CYMBALS:

-Allways use cymbal felts underneath! On top it is not nesessary, as long as cymbals are not in touch with metal. Exception to this rule is hi hats, where you should keep felts on bottom and on top. There are specific (bigger) felts for hi hats.

-Make sure, that cymbals are not in touch with metal parts! If your cymbal stand does not have plastic / rubber coating you can add i.e. electricity tape, piece of rubber hose etc.

-When attaching cymbals to stand, do not put them too tight! Cymbals should be able to move freely when hit. Then they do not bend and will sound better.

-Put cymbals on right height ja to right angle! Right angle should be something in between 0-15 degrees. If angle is higher cymbals will break a lot easier.

HOW TO HIT CYMBALS:

-"Hitting through" is excellent way to destroy your cymbals. When hitting, keep drumstick in your hand so that it can move, stop (hitting) movement a bit before it touches cymbal and let drumstick fall.

-When hitting same cymbal several times in row, try to make sure that you do not hit straight to edge.

Briefly: USE FELTS, AVOID DIRECT TOUCH TO METAL, KEEP CYMBALS LOOSLY ATTACHED IN RIGHT ANGLE AND DO NOT "HIT THROUGH"!

TAKING CARE OF CYMBALS:

-If you want your cymbals to shine like new- good and gentle way to clean them is using dish washing liquid and hot water. Dish washing liquid is excellent in clening grease and most of the dirt in cymbals is grease form your hands. This way cymbals keep their bright sound- on the other many drummers prefer a little patina and darker tones that it brings.

If you desided that you want your cymbals to shine, most cymbal manufacturers do have cleaning- and polishing liquids. Bare in mind though that all clening liquids will fade logos in the long run. Do not use any cleaning liquids with rubbing elements, those will take logos away immediately!

We do not clean our cymbals because we want you to have the chance to deside how you want your cymbals!
